Previously in my practical Mexico blogposts series: our hotel in Cancun, and today I’m showing you where we spent our 4 nights in Tulum! We booked a fantastic apartment trough Airbnb, called Buena Onda. Buena Onda is a private place with 4 beautiful, modern apartments in different sizes and a garden with pool. We booked the “Estrella” apartment, which is the most private one with a huge rooftop terrace. Fun extra: the friendly house dog Gilda awaits you at the stairs in the morning. So cute!
The apartment is located in a quiet living area, just a few blocks from the end of Tulum’s main road. That means that it’s walking distance from Tulum town but biking is definitely more fun! So we first hired a bike to get to Tulum beach (about 20min) and then a car to take longer day trips, but taxi rides through town are very affordable as well. Alessandro and his translator picked us up from the ADO bus station in Mexican style — in the back of their truck, so cool. These guys were a great help, giving us dining tips and immediately helping us out when we accidentally lost our keys (oops).
Many of you guys asked about our apartment in Tulum, so if you’re planning at trip to Tulum yourselves: this is a real, honest recommendation! Read about my 5 things to do in Tulum as well 🙂
