Now that most of the Christmas craze is over, I found some time to gather all footage of the weekend before. 12 friends and I drove over to the other side of the country for an amazing wellness weekend!
Our destination? A renovated monastery in a tiny village called Waimes, found on holiday website Belvilla. We were extremely lucky to experience a snowy weekend, because in Malmédy, only a few kilometers away, there wasn’t a flake to be seen. You can imagine we spent most of our time cuddling up to each other in front of the fire, going out for wild sleigh adventures and… enjoying the wellness part of course!
Time for an ultracozy photo diary! Get your hot chocolate and marshmallows ready and sit back.
If there’s one thing that takes every grown-up back to their childhood in no time, it’s snow. So upon arrival, while carrying our sleighs and moonboots, an instant transformation of 25 turned 5 took place! We spent the entire Saturday afternoon playing in the snow, and went for a beautiful snow walk through the woods afterwards. Picture perfect, let me tell you.
The weekend before Christmas obviously asked for a pre-Christmas dinner. We had Christmassy apéritif drinks, fab chef cook and best friend Lisa prepared us a huge (almost nearly vegan!) festive buffet and we even organized a Secret Santa game later in the evening. We ended the night in the pool and jacuzzi, obviously.
And then the common thread in this entire weekend (and where we spent about 70% of our time)… the wellness part! Located in a brand new wing attached to the old monastery, the spa area is a haven of relaxing and fun.
The possibility to take a dip in the middle of the night in your own private swimming pool is just A DREAM. Not to mention the presence of a sauna, outside whirlpool and bar next to the pool… Those late night whirlpool sessions while it was actually snowing (in Belgium, guys!) were moments to never forget 🙂
This weekend & blogpost were made possible by Belvilla, who took care of the amazing holiday home! Find the house here, and more cool holiday spots on their website.
